Ethical Consumerism Means For Business - 1781 Words
Executive Summary The aim of this report was to analyse what ethical consumerism means for business. A brief analysis of ethical consumerism is given as well as identifying some of the key products that falls under the ethical category. Ethical consumerism has gained momentum in recent years; it is about consumers buying products and services they see to be ethically produced without any or little damage being done to the environment and society. In the report, a detailed review of one company claiming to operate ethically is given. McDonald, one of the fast food giants that claim to operate under this norm is reviewed in detail; it approaches to business ethics and its values as a responsible company is identified. Finally, the report analyse a short opinion survey on what influences consumer purchasing behaviour on a small group of students at GSM campus was conducted. The study reports that while majority of the participants regard ethics as important but response results indicate that the importance of ethics does not automatically influence consumer buying behaviour. The report concludes however that ethical consumerism can be a tool for change in shaping the way companies operate.
